The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green is a great romantic comedy about... well... romance. The movie revolves around Ethan Green (Daniel Letterle), who has no problem finding men to come home with him, but seems to have plenty of trouble keeping them there. Though as it says in the very beginning of the movie, it's his own fault.
His problems stem from a traumatic sleepover experience when he was a child, involving the Dating Game, or some such thing. He ended up with the Dud, and has been searching for the Dream Date ever since. Every time he thinks he finds someone, he ends up picking out flaws until he breaks up with them for being less than perfect.
We come in when his choices of "life partner" are narrowed down to the hunky jock Kyle (Diego Serrano), the adorable teensomething Punch (Dean Shelton) and the best-friend/ex Leo (David Monahan) -- recently engaged. To aid in the insanity of Ethan's life, and the overall color of the movie, there are also the Hat Sisters (Joel Brooks and Richard Riehle), and Ethan's mother (Meredith Baxter).
All the boys in this film are absolutely beautiful, and the plot is highly entertaining. The two producers I know of, Tod Abrams (executive producer) and Steve Brooksbank are both gay, as you can discover from the comentary, and very much enjoyed putting together a movie full of beautiful men.
I don't want to give away the ending, so all I will say is that I was very pleased with it. Ethan does manage to discover a few things about himself, and his flaws and growth as a character make him both memorable and lovable.
